CST499: Capstone Project Module I
Capstone Project: Week 1
The first week started out well, we have started on the Wireframes we'll be using and a majority of the team has completed a thorough course on using Next.js (How we're planning on deploying our front-end.)
We did however, make some slight changes to the architecture as we think it'd be better suited to deploy our backend service through Vercel as well, instead of doing a micro-service architecture, which would decrease overall costs and complexity, tremendously, and still allow us to deploy our code execution via backend possibly using DigitalOcean's droplets, which still allows for scalability, if we continue on with the project after capstone completion.
Dr. Feng, pressed us further with some urgency to begin development as soon as possible so we were able to deploy our baseline front-end project, as well as link it to a database. This week's focus will be towards outlining the front-end which Victoria and Arielle will be in charge of and have already started. Edward's focus is in keeping track of the database and backend routing. My focus is on fleshing out the scheduling algorithm and being able to present a prototype to Dr. Feng by our next meeting to examine the feasibility of the project. We were also tasked with contacting the CSUMB Competitive Programming Club in order to possibly test our app at deployment to provide some feedback.
